Nature Isle Recipe Contest!
Our customers submitted their favorite recipe using one or more of our products. The judges have selected the five (5) recipes below as the finalists in our Recipe Contest.

Now it's your turn to vote for YOUR favorite Caribbean recipe. The recipe with the most votes will be announced on September 15, 2008 and the winner will receive a $100.00 gift certificate from Nature Isle Tropical Gourmet! So, cast your VOTE below and click Submit!

It took us some time to go through the submitted recipes. We judged based on taste and ease of preparation. We extended the date to give everyone a chance to try these winning recipes and vote.



Recipe Number One - Tango Mango:

Ingredients:
  • 1 (16 ounce) can black beans, drained
  • 1 (15 1/2oz) can pineapple chunks in juice, drained
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 12oz bottle Nature Isle Mango Hot Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • salt to taste

    Directions:
    In a medium saucepan, combine beans, pineapple, onion, and garlic, Nature Isle Mango Hot Sauce and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low. Season with salt. Simmer for 5 minutes, serve over hot cooked rice and sprinkle with cilantro. Excellent served with roasted pork or ham. Yields 4 servings



  • Recipe Number Two - Fried Shrimp:

    Ingredients:
  • 1 Lb shrimp
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (5oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Lemon juice
  • Nature Isle’s Mango Pepper Sauce
  • Nature Isle Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 1 cup- all- purpose flour
  • Oil for frying.

    Directions.
    Remove head and shell from shrimp, but leave fantail. Split shrimp down back and devein.
    Make a marinade in a bowl, by making a mixture of eggs, milk, baking powder and lemon juice. Marinate shrimp for a few hours in this mixture. Remove shrimp from mixture dip in a bowl of Nature Isle Mango Pepper Sauce. Dip in Flour and deep fry in 380 Deg oil no longer than two (2) minutes. Optional: Add Nature Isle Hot pepper Sauce to taste. Yields 3-4 servings.



  • Recipe Number Three - Creamy Chicken:

    Ingredients:
  • 4 boneless breasts
  • 2 cloves of garlic, grated
  • Black pepper
  • ½ a can cream of mushroom soup (10oz)
  • 1 tbsp Nature Isle Mango Mustard

    Directions.
    Marinate chicken in half the garlic and black pepper for 15 minutes. Brown slightly on both sides in a frying pan or in the oven using a little olive oil. Place slightly browned chicken in a baking pan. Mix the cream of mushroom soup, Nature Isle Mango Mustard and ¾ cups of water together and pour over chicken. Add garlic and salt, if necessary and bake for 20 minutes at 345°. Serve with rice or pasta



  • Recipe Number Four - Shrimp & Carrot Salad:

    Ingredients:
  • 1 dozen raw shrimps
  • 4 large carrots
  • ¼ cup raisins
  • 3 tbsp Nature Isle Caribbean Ranch Dressing
  • Garlic powder

    Directions.
    Grate carrots. Cook shrimps for a few minutes until they curl and turn pink. Cut each shrimp into 3 pieces. Mix all ingredients together and add garlic to taste.



  • Recipe Number Five - Spicy BBQ Corn:

    Ingredients:
  • 4 ears of corn
  • Nature Isle Spicy BBQ Sauce
  • Nature Isle Hot Pepper Sauce
  • Dried rosemary

    Directions.
    Place corn on individual pieces of foil. Drizzle with Nature Isle Spicy BBQ Sauce and sprinkle with dried Rosemary leaves. Wrap foil so that corn is properly sealed and grill for 20 minutes turning 2 or 3 times. Add Nature Isle Hot Pepper Sauce to taste.
